"90 Years Ago" is a tribute to my mother, who would have turned 90 this year. More than a collection of instrumental pieces, this EP is a journey through memory, family, and the enduring presence of those who continue to shape our lives long after they are gone.
The opening track, "Hilda", bears my mother's name. It was recorded as a spontaneous piano improvisation in 2019 and remains exactly as it was first played, capturing a moment of pure emotion and remembrance.
The second piece, "Vicenta", is dedicated to my maternal grandmother, whose memory lives on through the generations that followed her.
"Two Hearts" takes its title from an expression my mother used when referring to my sister and me. Today, those same words have taken on a different meaning, becoming a way for me to think of my mother and grandmother together—two hearts forever connected in memory.
The EP closes with "Small Hands", inspired by my mother's hands. Hands that were always creating, caring, and giving love through the simplest everyday gestures. It is a reflection on tenderness, dedication, and the quiet beauty found in ordinary acts of love.
"90 Years Ago" is a musical remembrance, a thank you, and a celebration of the bonds that time can never erase.
